The Promised Immortality
You may be wondering what will happen with the ones who will be taken by Jesus Christ:
First, it is vital to explain that the rapture will occur in the twinkling of an eye, so the ones who will stay behind on the Earth will not see it. An analogy: Imagine yourself drinking coffee with a dear friend or relative, and they suddenly vanish and all you see are their clothes spread on the chair and floor. Picture this occurring in the entire world!
The believers will be taken alive to meet Jesus in the clouds and their mortal bodies will be transformed into glorified and perfect immortal bodies, like Jesus has now (Philippians 3:21). However, before that occurs, the dead in Christ will be resurrected and granted immortality.
The prophecy in Scripture:
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality… then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”
I Corinthians 15:51-55 NKJV
The song “Forever Young” comes to mind… 😊
Death and corruption (evil and sin), will be completely defeated in the believers and that is also why we celebrate! 🙂 We don’t hold on to an imperfect world full of disease, hatred, wars, cruelty, pain and death. Why would anyone in their right mind want to hold on to that!?! Doesn’t what we’ve shared with you that Jesus Christ, the true King of the Earth, has to offer sound much better than anything this cruel and corrupt world has ever given you (John 16:33)? Plus, if you are taken, you will come with us to Heaven. 🙂
Our Lord’s promise to return to take us to Heaven:
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
John 14:1-4 NKJV
Our hope is that you’ll come and join our celebration! 🙂 When the time of the rapture takes place, we want to meet you in the clouds and give you the biggest hug full of real love and Light (John 8:12), and then for us to enter together the pearly gates of Heaven (Revelation 21:21). 🙂
